User Research

The insights that makes the foundation to any new feature undertaking for Bayzat SaaS platform came from users communicating with Bayzat employees during their experience with out services. User research at Bayzat was conducted in close corporation with the Sales team.

Wireframing & Prototyping

Wireframing worked as a crucial part in the beginning of a project to discuss the potential functionality and experience for the user. By involving all stakeholders such as product team, sales team, company owners, programmers and users from the start these wireframes served as discussion point to outline features before investing resources into the development.

Bayzat’s SaaS platform provides aid for processes such as time off and payroll among others. Two features that has to comply both with the local laws, external entities and the wishes for customization from the user base.

User Testing

With a limited budget for user testing we employed the technique of running small tests more often with about 5 users, rather than running fewer larger tests. This allowed us to test a lot more throughout the process and to iterate quickly.

Production

As the only designer at Bayzat I worked together with the product team to create all the documentation to make the production as easy as possible for the programmer. I was in charge of creating functional block diagrams, user flows and the like.

Above. The process of how a payrun must be configured was unfamiliar to the programming team. Above is one of the supporting documents to try and illustrate the process to ensure proper implementation.

Profile

The first major feature of the HR Admin Platform was the profile page and the important document administrative capabilities. Our biggest competitor in the region for these sort of tasks were Excel sheets so the MVP of the platform had a strong focus on providing capabilities that an Excel sheet could not. Automatic data extraction from documents and expiration tracking were a few that were managed from the individual profiles of the employees.

Other minor features for quality of life was asset tracking.

Time Off

The feature for time off requests had to accommodate for the possibilities of overlapping time off with other people in the team. The HR needs all information accessible in order to make quick and efficient decisions.

Requesting leave needs to be approved by a certain amount of team members, which creates a need for teams to be created and managed. Certain members of the team should have veto right for approving or rejecting time off.

Branded Payroll

Bayzat offered custom branding of its features to their clients in order to increase adoption of its platform. Here is an example of Emirates NBD branding of its payroll feature.
