The Marshmallow Test in its most basic form presents a marshmallow to the test subject, and the longer the test subject refrains from eating the marshmallow the more marshmallows they get. In parallel with an intelligence test, conclusions can be drawn by showing that the more intelligent test subjects were also able to perform better on the marshmallow test.
