HCI uSis
In collaboration with Daniel Scheer
uSis is Leiden University’s notorious interface to manage your course enrollment. It has a very outdated interface that is considered difficult to use and understand by students. We took it upon ourselves to come up with an updated interface and experience to enroll and explore courses by going through an iteration of user experience testing.
We started off with analyzing the existing flow to identify all the pieces that needed to be included in our interface.
Next we made a mockup of the screens included in our flow. The project was focused on one specific user flow of the interface: the enrollment process.
Based on these wireframes we conducted the first user test to collect feedback on layout, functionality and experience.
The users were asked to perform a set of familiar tasks for a student such as:
Valuable insights were collected about positioning of buttons and information and overall experience. We also got wishes about additional functionality and the thought process that a student goes through when they enroll into a course as well as current pain points in the process.
A high fidelity mockup and prototype was created based on the insights and results from the first user test. A second user test was held based on this new prototype
This project was made for the course Human Computer Interaction
